Why The Remodeling Pro Does Not Do Bath Liners

The Remodeling Pro is proud we do not cover up potential problems with pretty tub liners and wall coverings. We decided long ago to offer only products that meet these 3 important criteria. First, we will only install products that are sturdy and designed to last. Secondly, the Remodeling Pro will only deliver a beautiful bathroom at an affordable rate. Thirdly, each remodel must be completed in a timely manner (that means you’ll have a new bathroom in genrally one to two days).

Don’t Cover Up Your Problems

bathroom mold 2Don’t just cover up your cracked tile and unsightly old tub.

You could be creating a long-term headache by taking the easy route – bath liners and wall coverings. It may seem to be a cheap and simple solution, but this type of remodel is really just a short-term fix. It’s a little like putting lipstick on a pig, it may look better but it’s still a pig. And an old bathroom will definelty have water damage and rot you just can’t see.

You are probably covering rotten wood, water damaged plaster or sheetrock and mold infested wall spaces. When you use the Remodeling Pro you can be sure we will remove the water damaged rotten subsurface material before we ever start to replace your bath surround.bathroom mold 1

Bath Liner Cons

BUBBLES

Even though great pains are taken by most bath liner companies to produce a cover that perfectly fits your bath, there is always a chance that poor manufacturing, improper installation or even normal use could create unwanted pockets of air or water between your bath wrap and original tub. These bubbles are unsightly and could lead to future problems.

FLOATING LINER SYNDROME

The improper sizing or installation of a bath wrap/liner can end in floating liner syndrome. Floating liner syndrome is when the original tub which is stationary and the liner form which has been glued to the tub – become separated. The liner slides around like an outer skin. This can be dangerous when entering and exiting the bath tub.

CRACKS

Covering your tub with an acrylic or PVC (poly vinyl chloride) only offers short-term benefits. Acrylic and PVC liners can age quickly with use and often end in cracks on the surface of the bath wrap, especially around the drain and wall surrounds. And a simple cracks can lead to water damage and even worse black mold.

CONDENSATION

Condensation can occur anytime your tub reaches different temperature extremes hot and cold. This condensation will build between the bathtub or wall liners and create issues.

MOLD

Improper installation, cracks, bubbles and condensation between your bath tub wrap and the original tub or your wall covering and original tile wall surround can lead to mold. When water gets trapped under the bath liners it can stagnate, smell and begins to create unhealthy mold situation.
